FAQ

How do I book?

My books are always open, make an appointment here. I do my best to accommodate schedules and require a $50 non-refundable deposit to lock in a date. You can reschedule within 48 hrs of your appointment and your deposit will transfer to a new date. Failure to do so, is a loss of your deposit. Please do not DM me to book an appointment, DM’s get lost in the matrix and make it very difficult to find and confirm appts/ask followup questions.

How do I book a touch-up for a tattoo?

I provide one free touch-up with every tattoo I do within that same year of initially tattooing the piece. Email me at dwulc@yahoo.com to schedule an appointment and provide a photo of what piece you're wanting touched up and your availability.

Do you tattoo at events/parties?

Yes, if timing and everything aligns I am definitely open to this, just reach out and ask!

Do you travel and tattoo?

Not really at the moment, but that is subject to change in the future.

Do I have to be 18 to get tattooed?

The answer is yes.

How do flash tattoos work?

I have an IG @art_is_flash where I update and post all flash that is available to get done at any time. Flash tattoos are as is, although sometimes I will make little changes per request. Some flash are one and done, which is stated under the flash pieces that this pertains to. If you like a piece I have already done and won’t repeat, I will do a new variation of said piece, just reach out and ask. Most of my flash I charge my hourly rate, unless stated otherwise.

How do custom designs work?

I love drawing up custom pieces for people, and appreciate the trust in this process. That being said I do charge a small fee of $50 for the time it takes to draw up a piece and rework it until you are 100% satisfied, as it is permanent art in the making. Once you have submitted your fee and deposit, I will ask for inspiration photos and an explanation of what you would like to bring your vision to life. I usually get drawings done a few days prior to our appointment and appreciate your patience and response during this process.

What will it cost?

Currently my hourly is $180 and my minimum is $100 I can do my best to give you an estimate on a piece, but it’s not always clear how long a piece will take until I began.

Will you do cover-ups/rework/or touch up older work by other artists?

Yes to all of the above. I actually really enjoy the challenge of coverups and have no qualms about reworking/touching up work not done by me, I understand how it can be getting a tattoo you’re not stoked on or is old and not wanting to go back to the same artist or being unable to contact the same original artist. So, don’t hesitate to reach out, I got you!

Do you work with color?

Yes, I enjoy working with color as much as I enjoy working with blackwork. I provide free color tests. All of the ink/products I work with are vegan. Everyone is different and allergic reactions, especially to color inks are always a risk.

What’s the studio like?

I am a queer artist and work from a private studio in Signal Hill, CA. I run a safe space. You can bring a plus one to your appointment. There is free street parking, Mondays and Tuesdays there is street sweeping from 8am-12pm. There are also stairs and unfortunately the space is not wheelchair accessible.

What can I do before the tattoo to prepare?

To make sure your tattoo experience goes nice and smooth here are some things you can do:

  • Get a good night’s sleep

  • Do not go out and drink a bunch/party the night before your appointment

  • Make sure you’re not sick and are feeling 100%

  • Eat a decent meal and hydrate before your appointment

  • Be mindful of any medications that are blood thinners

  • Wear comfy clothing that allow access to the area being tattooed

  • Make sure you’re not sunburned or have any rashes or scratches in the area you want tattooed

  • Let me know if you have any allergies

What are the aftercare instructions for my tattoo?

I will have a QR code when I see you with instructions and will verbally go over the basics at our appointment.

How long have you been tattooing?

I started tattooing in July of 2012 and haven’t slowed down since!

Do you take apprentices?

At this time I do not, but I would be willing to teach you one on one, feel free to reach out for more about that process. *serious inquiries only*
